Dry Aged Beef Sliders with Tom Yum Goong Aioli
Last Sunday evening, I had the pleasure of attending Whimsikal the festival, an outdoor music and barbeque food event, and let me tell you, it was memorable! As a food, event and lifestyle blogger, I am always on the lookout for fun and unique experiences to share with my readers, and this event did not disappoint.
The event took place in a spacious area in City Sprouts, which provided plenty of tables and benches for attendees to spread out and enjoy themselves under a huge tentage. Thanks to the tentage, we were shielded from weather elements. The crowds were enjoying the fellowship of their family, friends and pets, and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming.
But let's get to the good stuff - the food! The barbeque meat platter was truly exceptional, with succulent meats cooked to perfection, elevating sauces and served with a variety of delicious sides. From beef sliders to tender brisket, every bite was a delight for the taste buds. And let's not forget about the refreshing cocktails, which were the perfect accompaniment to the smoky, savory flavors of the barbeque. Absolutely delightful!
But what really made the Whimsikal event stand out was its pet and kid-friendly atmosphere. It was heartwarming to see so many families and their furry friends enjoying the event together. Kids were running around and playing the swings, intrigued by the bubble performance and farm tour, while dogs lounged in the shade, and everyone seemed to be having a fabulous time!
The live band was another highlight of the event. Their lively tunes kept the atmosphere upbeat and energized, my folks and I wished the sound level would be lower; to be more conversation-friendly.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention - there was even an impromptu open mic session at night! A few went on stage to sing and celebrate the birthday of their friend. And an unassuming guy in shorts sang and won the hearts of many! Whimsikal the festival was a community gathering that brought people together and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Whimsikal event to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing day out. The combination of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a friendly, chillax atmosphere made for an unforgettable experience.
